Benefit Fraud

Interviews & Proceedings

We can assist you with interviews by the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP) or the Local Authority in relation to allegations of fraud/dishonesty in respect of Social Security, Housing or Council Tax benefit claims.

As these interviews are not conducted by police officers and are normally voluntary interviews held at DWP or Council offices they do not qualify for free advice and assistance, in the same way as a police interview does.  You may  be entitled to Legal Aid, but his will depend on your financial circumstances and we will need proof of your income and outgoings to carry out the assessment.

If you do not qualify we can attend an interview with you and will charge a fixed fee of between £350* and £450* to attend with you and advise you before and during the interview.

If your case proceeds to court you may qualify for Legal Aid subject to satisfying the Legal Aid Agency’s merits and means assessments. We can check if you qualify financially.
